Description

Course aims:

  • Structured reflection on how year two has gone - the main lessons learnt, progress made, challenges encountered. To what extent are trainees becoming the teacher they hope to be, and how can they continue to learn and improve?
  • Targets for the future, and trainees' potential for preparing to take on Middle Leadership responsibility
  • How trainees can ensure that their contribution to their schools is sustained and substantial - what further initiatives/responsibility could they take on in their current role to add value to the institution and help to prepare themselves for future challenges and opportunities?

 

This course is for:

Participants in the first cohort of HMC Teacher Training, i.e. those who began the programme in September 2015.

 

This course includes:

Meals and other refreshments for the duration of the course.

Session 3: Moving Towards Mastery: how to become very good almost all of the time.

The session will include:

      
  • Reflection        on the different kinds of 'evidence' available for an early-stage        teacher and how it might inform development priorities
  •   
  • Exploration        of some teaching fundamentals - what we do every day that makes the most        difference
  •   
  • Some        reasons why we should avoid 'bandwagons'
  •   
  • Some        advice on how to action habit changes when you're really busy
