This course is for: Heads of HMC and other independent schools, and members of school Senior Leadership Teams.









Course objectives: by the end of the course delegates will have:

  • Gained an understanding of the legal frameworks surrounding schools and the employment of staff.
  • Gained clarity about what can and cannot be demanded from staff and what can go wrong in the employment relationship.
  • Developed an awareness of the legal frameworks concerning actions that can be taken against staff
  • Developed insights through particular school-based scenarios of staffing issues you are likely to face as a school leader
  • Gained awareness of recent changes and caselaw affecting staff employment
