Course Director Bio: David Snashall was educated at Caterham School and then Bath University. He taught physics and electronics in a variety of schools in England before becoming a Deputy Head on the Isle of Man. Following a further period of study at Bristol University, David served 13 years as a Head in two maintained schools both which were “failing” at the time, leading the change to the schools being “good”. This breadth of schools practice and employment pragmatics brought him, following an early retirement from schools, to work for ASCL in their member support service. Here David led the front-line support team who day-to-day support members with queries or who find themselves in employment difficulties. David is a former Chief Examiner, has been a member of the Examinations Appeals Board and has published text books and various articles. Now, in addition to working part-time talking to ASCL members, he is involved with a local MAT as vice-chair of the trust, is a non-legal member of the Employment Tribunal, and enjoys spending time with his two young children. In addition, David supports schools through training senior and middle leaders in employment issues and practices.
